2021 Pink Granite Rosé

With radiant hues of pink grapefruit and rose gold, your senses are initially delighted with the aroma of sugar-dusted pink grapefruit, elegant floral notes, undertones of fresh-cut cilantro and the minerality of a cool ocean breeze. The refreshing bright acidity evokes citrusy flavours of pink grapefruit pith and Meyer lemon, with subtle nuances of white currant and cranberry that linger through the long soft finish.
The grapes were harvested from block 30, where the soil profile contains mostly pink granite. Clone 828 grows smaller clusters and berries with low to medium yield and bunch weight; wines are balanced, aromatic (intense and fruity), round and full. The grapes were whole bunch pressed after about 16 hours of skin contact, using a sparkling wine press program, to minimize the crumbling inside the press and extract only delicate hues of pink. The juice was cold settled, then racked and fermented like a white wine. While it is a complex wine with many layers, it will be best enjoyed in its youth.
