This is a slightly more savoury style of Riesling with nice complexity. Warm aromas of coriander and fresh straw are followed by candied ginger and hard lemon candy, finishing with a hint of beeswax. The palate is long and carries a nice mouth-watering salinity. Nuances of orange citrus, wet rock and weakly steeped tea tannins balance the waxy-like finish. This wines yearns to be paired with savoury German cuisine – sausages, knödel, veal schnitzel.
Enjoy it now or cellar up to another 5-10 years.
