The 2019 Single Block Rose displays the brilliance and sparkle of rose quartz and rose gold.
The complex aromas seemingly jump out of the glass and are ever evolving: strawberries and whip cream, wild strawberries, orchard blossoms (cherry, apple, orange), fresh cracked pepper, and freshly-grated vanilla pod.
This wine simply ‘tastes like more’! Bright, playful and elegant flavours of slightly underripe or wild freshly-sliced strawberries leave your palate salivating and craving another glass… or bottle!
The grapes were harvested from block 30, planted entirely to clone 828 Pinot Noir. Clone 828 is not very common in Canada but is widely sought after. Some of the characteristics are small cluster and berry size, low to medium yield and bunch weight; wines are balanced, aromatic (intense and fruity), round and full. The grapes were whole bunch pressed, with only 5 hours of skin contact. The juice was cold settled, then racked and fermented (to dryness) like a white wine.
Our suggested lifestyle pairing is a patio on a beautiful sunny day! But if you must pair with food, we suggest fresh salads (strawberry/cucumber/spinach, watermelon/feta/mint or watermelon/arugula/goat cheese) or even beet carpaccio with goat parmesan or perhaps some rhubarb-infused scallops! Other delicious ideas could include prawns, blood orange, ruby red grapefruit or goat cheese…. and don’t forget the fresh cracked pepper!
