2021 Gewürztraminer

The 2021 version is quite a bit more floral and sweetly fragrant than other years, which is likely due to the higher pH as a result of a very hot growing season.  Nevertheless, its exotic aromas will dazzle you and you may even want to bathe in it!  Spilling over the rim is a bouquet of rose water, Turkish Delight and chunks of orange marmalade seasoned with freshly cracked white pepper.  The initial attack on the palate seems sweet, with flavours of Turkish Delight and honeydew melon engulfing the palate, leading to a long lingering and dry finish.

We instantly thought of pulled pork & grilled pineapple sliders or a pulled pork Hawaiian pizza!  Did we mention pulled pork?  The intense fragrance and flavour would match well with similar styled Moroccan and Indian cuisine and the delicate kiss of sweetness would help cool the palate of any lingering spicy heat.
